Things I've learned from art.....

They display local art from time to time on the walls here at work. There is this one current painting titled "Spiritual Awakening".

What I have learned from this piece is that I need someone to put their hand on my head then I need to imagine a toilet, then poof I will have a spiritual awakening!

Neat huh?

Cleaning

Have you ever let your house get SOOO messy it makes you cry? I am not talking about embarrassing to have guests over, I mean you feel like you just can't live like this anymore....

I hit that point. Yesterday I just snapped, I wanted to cry the loft was so disgusting! It all started cause we went to a friends new place to pic him up for dinner. It was so clean and well decorated and perfect..... I kind of pissed me off. We are gay, why can't our place look like that?

It's not because our place is not decorated well, our place is actually rather kick ass, the problem is there was just shit everywhere!!!! So yesterday I went to down on the downstairs. I just threw everything away totally indiscriminately. I didn't care what it was. If it was in a pile obviously it was not important as it did not have a place and it was not being used or looked at.

The downstairs looks SOOO much better now. I felt so much happier about life. Now I need to tackle to upstairs because it's still in that make me wanna cry type state....

There was a marathon this weekend of Ice Road Truckers. This is my new favorite show! Whats good be better during rerun season?!?!?!

These guys are kinda crazy, I mean who is crazy enough to drive tons of equipment on a frozen ocean and stuff? It does look kinda fun though.

You guys should totally watch this show.

I make a good lesbian

So my freezer has been having issues.... I sheet of ice keeps forming on the bottom of it, getting thicker and thicker till the drawer wont close (I have a bottom freezer). I thought maybe the ice maker was leaking or something. I asked my lesbian friend if she knew who was a good person to call about fridge repair (always ask a lesbian for this kinda stuff). She told me this is common and its usually a clogged drain in the freezer. Did you know freezers have drains? I did not! Well they do! And after searching the next, some massive defrosting, some disassembly, I found the drain. But I still could not fully reach it! So being the resourceful man I am, I took a straw, shoved it in there and blow like an old French whore! I got that sucker unclogged and now my freezer no longer has ice build up issues!

I make such a good lesbian don't I? I even had my flannel shirt and mullet wig on!

Well thanks to California being a kick ass state to live in, it is now legal for gays to get married! Roque and I have wasted NO time organizing our soon to be wedding.

We are getting married on October 31st. We are getting married here. It should be LOTS of fun. Plus once it's over its right in Old Town Sacramento and we can start a pub crawl!

This will be the best wedding EVAR!!!!!!

The Comic Lounges Gets a place at Denio's

As you know we started an online comic book store, The Comic Lounge. As with any business just starting, business is a bit slow. But I have confidence it will start to pick up, we just have to show that we mean it!

So in the mean time in order to make some extra money, we got a spot at the HUGE flea market in Sacramento called Denio's. We have our little booth and stuff, it's kinda neat. We have only been there two weekends so not sure yet how well it's gonna work out. We did great one and not great the other.... I think we just need to work on merchandising! We need to WOW people as they walk by! And by this we need to have action figures in peoples faces that kids will demand their parents buy them :)

I will keep you updated on how this little adventure of ours works out.

Homo Camping!

W00t I just made reservations to go camping at a gay camping resort. I am really looking forward to this! There is a group of 6 of us going, along with whoever else ends up there (the guy takes up to 25 people).

I think it will be lots of fun. I have not camping in a while. And best of all we get to bring Coda! It will be his first camping trip :)

To the vent one last time

I take Coda to UC Davis Vet tomorrow for hopefully the last time. He is cured of his pneumonia but they are going to do a freaky test to see if he has ciliary dyskinesia. I don't think he actually has it but it is important to know just in case. And since it's a rare procedure to test for it, they are doing it for me practically for free. He will also get nuetered while there. So we will be without Coda for a few days, I am gonna miss my little guy!

Tomorrow is SacCon, the Sacramento comic book convention. We will be going to represent The Comic Lounge and hopefully start to drum up business for the site. I am still working away on rwfnets to the site. Although we only have comic book inventory right now I really want that section to be perfect. I figure due one thing kick ass thenany things half ass. I will add other sections of inventory as te goes on.

Wish us luck!

The Comic Lounge

So......

Roque has started up a new adventure! He (with my help!) is starting up an online comic book store. The store is called The Comic Lounge. I have been working hard on the website, I highly suggest you check it out (and buy stuff!).

Currently there is only comic book inventory, but in the near future we will be adding toys, graphic novels, etc...

It's all very exciting actually! I think it really does have potential of doing well. So we will see......

Check It Out - The Comic Lounge

Update!

Posted by Scott at 06:31 AM | Comments (1)

January 22, 2008

I am done with puppy pads!

I am totally done with puppy pads for Coda. We have our little boy paper trained. It seems like a good idea cause you don't have to go outside to let him go, but I am SICK and tired of cleaning up his shit (literally). I know I need to clean up his poop if he goes outside too but at least he can't scrunch up his puppy pads and piss and poo on the floor. That is what I am tired of cleaning up. I don't have to clean his pee outside, just pick up his poop in a poopy bag, I can do that.

So I have been starting to train him to go in the bark in the little planter area directly in front of the loft. That way I can just quickly take him out and he can do his business. Plus in the bark he does not get muddy, even if it is raining. I just have to make sure I replace bark if it starts to go away, but I can do that.

PLUS buying puppy pads is expensive!!!!!!

Anyway, hopefully this will workout good.

Coda Update

It has been a while since I made an update on Coda so it's clearly time!

Coda is doing GREAT!!!!!!!! He has not coughed in several weeks, and let me tell you, I had forgotten what it sounded like to NOT hear coughing. He has been sick for SO long.

We had an appointment at UC Davis on Tuesday for another checkout to see how he was doing. They took x-rays of his chest and the vet says there are no signs of active pneumonia anymore. YAY!!!!!!!!!!! He is down from 3 pills twice a day to 1 pill twice a day. And if you have ever tried to give a puppy pills you know how much that rocks.

We have one more appointment next month and if the x-rays come back the same or better, then he will officially be considered cured from this crazy pneumonia. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is SOOO happy now, seriously, its so good to see him feeling good and this happy.

Holy Crap!

Um someone opened the flood gates. It is not only raining like crazyness, there is sustained wind of 30mph with gusts up to 60mph right now.

I am working form home today because I choose not to risk my life on the freeway, I have been hearing sirens almost non stop since I woke up. It is total crazyness.

The power has flickerd a few times and I lost power for aobut 30 seconds once already. Luckily I have underground power so I almost never lose power, the fact that it went out for 30 seconds is something....

Total crazyness!

Puppy updates

Coda is back at the vet hospital. He is not in very good shape, he has pneumonia that wont go away, it is clearly immune to the antibiotics he has taken so far. The only other step is to do a scope of his lungs where they can check for foreign bodies and take samples from deep in his lungs to find out exactly what bacteria he has so they now what drugs to give him to finally cure him.

He goes under tomorrow morning for his procedure, I really hope he comes through ok! I miss my little guy!

Well my family and me went on said cruise and it was WAY fun. I am not addicted to the cruise. I wanna go on more, and more!

The vet after doing some crazy expensive procedure was finally able to diagnose his cough and he is on the proper antibiotics for it. He is doing MUCH better. He can actually sleep now without waking himself up by coughing. He does still couch a little when excited though.

Roque and I have decided to open up a web/design company on the side to make a little extra money. We have already one one website and are about to start on another. YAY, go us!

Work is work, the end.

And it's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippy!

West Sacramento Firemen are hot!

How do I know this? OMG cause I had to call the fire dept that is why!!!!

I was on the couching watching a movie with Roque, I smelled what I thought was BBQ. I found that a bit odd as all the windows were closed but I stopped thinking about it. Then someone rang my doorbell to tell me my air conditioner was on fire. Now my AC is in the back but my neighbors is our front. And yes, there was a fire out there! The bark around his AC unit was totally on fire!!!!!

So I got the hose out, put out the fire, pulled the breaker on the AC unit so it would not stay on and called the Fire Dept. I wanted to make sure the fire was not in the walls or anything of the like. They came out checked things out. It was all good. They were all rather hot.

I managed to get a hold of my neighbors to tell them. I kinda feel sorry for them as it is supposed to be in the triple digits this week, I hope they get that sucker fixed soon....

It's a bit freaky though. What if no one was home?!?!?!?! Our building could have burnt down!

My baby has a cough

Poor Coda has a cough. He has had it for some time now. Even after two weeks of antibiotics he still has it. So the vet gave me a prescription for some stuff to help open his air passages to hopefully help him. We will see. I have not tried it yet as I had to go to the pharmacy to have it filled and they were out of stock. So I get his medicine tonight. Everyone keep your figures crossed, I want my baby to be better!

OK this pissed me off to no end while I was driving to work.

This morning it was cold, windy and rainy. While I was on the freeway driving to work I came upon a truck. In the bed of the truck was this poor dog. It's cold, it's raining, and your on the freak'n freeway!!!!!!! Do you honestly think your dog is enjoying this experience?

Needless to say the dog did not look happy. That owner needs a smackdown.

Laying Tile in the Bathroom

Well the project is almost totally complete!

The entire downstairs is now covered in the new floor. The only place not done, is the closet under the stairs. Roque doesn't want me to bother, but I am totally going to eventually. But what is most important is that every area were people actually go is done.

I also was in the mood to play with some video editing so I got my Bob Villa on and taped the process and made a little video. Enjoy!

Habitat for Humanity

This morning are team at work decided to do Habitat for Humanity as a team builder. It is was a good idea and Habitat for Humanity is a great organization. However the task we had today was evil!!!!

We were digging trenches for foundations and for plumbing. We do not have soft soil here in Sacramento, oh no! You have to hack away with a pic axe and it's slow and painful work.

In all it was fun times, but it was very hard work. I am finally starting to get a little bit of dexterity back in my fingers.

Since the work site was close to home I went back home afterwards took a shower and now am working from home. Yippy!

I have made a decision

I have decided to start swimming again. You may not know this but I used to swim competitively in my youth. Back when I had zero percent body fat and worked out 21 hours a week.

Anyway I was swimming but when I bought my Loft I could not afford it anymore. However now that I am a fat cow I have decided I need to exercise again and I want to swim again. I will find a way to pay for it even if I have to turn tricks (OK not really but hehe).

I just ordered all new swim suit and goggles, cause my stuff is no where to be found, not to mention I am too fat to fit in my old suits anyway.

I can't wait I am so excited!

Staying in the loft

I can't fall back asleep so I will just blog right now :)

Life has been crazy the past few days. We "un-bought" out new house. Which means we also took the loft of the market. We have decided to stay. There are many reasons why, one of which I don't wanna say cause I don't wanna jinx it! But basically it would be stupid to move right now. The market is pure crap and really we are sitting on a gold mine. This neighborhood is going to grow so much and this loft will be worth insane amounts of money in the near future, why sell it when it's at it's lowest possible value....

So ya, but there will be a few changes, most notably we WILL be installing hard wood floors immediately. I know people think concrete floors are cool and they are all trendy right now. But let me tell you something, people only think that cause they have never actually had concrete floors. Concrete floors totally blow. It doesn't matter what you do inside (paint, furniture, blah blah) your house always looks like a warehouse. We must soften up the downstairs.

So ya, stand by for pics of the loft in the near future :)

Coda Update

Coda is such a good little boy. He is finally obeying commands and he is almost understanding to use the puppy pads. If he is downstairs he knows to go on the puppy pads. However if he is upstairs he does not seem to realize he should go back downstairs to go on the puppy pads. But we are almost there!

I gave Coda a hair cut this weekend. He looks SOOOO cute. I must say I am getting good at this hair cut thing. The first time I was not so super successful but this time he came out really good. Who needs to pay a groomer 45 bucks to got your dogs hair, not me!

All shiny and clean

As you know we are selling the loft. It hits the market tomorrow so I took today off to do some last minute touch ups. And by that I mean I steam cleaned the carpets today. It's not "that" bad of a job but it's certainly tiring. Anyway my carpets look amazing! All pet stains gone. I even bought a little steam cleaner to do the stairs and also to clean up after Coda when he has accidents, which he still has cause he is stubborn. I am convinced its not cause he doesn't know better it's cause he does not care. He is testing us. OH but we will win this battle!!!!

I never thought I could love a dog so much. I was totally on the fence before I got Coda. I was never much of a dog person having been attacked by a group of dogs at a young age. But I finally caved to husband and got him Coda. And he is the best thing ever.

Training him has been a pain in the ass. But we finally are getting somewhere. He sleeps in a kennel at night in our bedroom, and during the day he is confined to a room that has puppy pads in part of it so he can do his business since we are at work so long he can't hold it all day. He is doing really well, he always goes on the puppy pads and never anywhere else in his room. This pleases me. But I don't think he is ready to be set free, plus when the loft goes on the market he needs to be kept confined, we don't want packages on the carpet when people come to see the place, nor do we want him getting outside on accident....

Coda was a bit freaked out on his first new years cause the sound of the fireworks, which are done right by my loft. This will also be true for our new house, and they do fireworks ever week during baseball season at the stadium so he better get used to them!

Rent-A-Cop power trip

OK this pissed me off nicely the other night. I went to pick up my buddy at the airport last night. It was him, his wife, and his little baby girl. I drive up to the loading zone, and he is there with a few bags, but his wife, kid and more bags are still inside. I put his bag's in the car and he says he needs to get the rest. Then the jack ass rent-a-cop tells me I am not allowed to wait for him, he has to have all his bags at the curb when I pick him up. And he forced me to get back in my car and drive around and come back.

KISS MY ASS RENT-A-COP!!!!!!!!

I am never selling a house again....

Selling your house totally sucks! You have to paint all your walls, you have to steam cleann your carpets, you have to remove 2/3 of your furniture. You basically have to make it look like no one lives there, even though you are still living there!

Well almost every wall is painted now. But it still look like a bomb went off inside with stuff piled everywhere in preparation to be packed and moved to the storage unit.

I never want to do this again.....

I hope the loft sells in like two days....

WTF have I been?

Oh My JESUS! It has been SO long since I blogged the cookie for my Movable Type log-in had expired! So here we go, here is a very condensed version of what has happened that has caused me to be a loser when it comes to blogging. We are going from oldest to most recent, here we go!

Panic Attacks

The main thing that has fucked me up in the past month is REALLY bad anxiety and panic attacks. Those who don't experience this problem can just never really understand. When you are having a panic attack you honest to God think your dying. No, you KNOW you are dying. It is NOT fun and there is really nothing you can do about it. And when you are SUPER anxious 24/7 you can't function. You can't function at work, you can't eat, you can't sleep. Life just blows!

I have had problems with this in the past, I used to be on meds for it, but I got off the meds but it was starting to come back slowly and them on day WHAM, the universe bitch slapped me and I was fucked up again.

And you know the most fucked up part? Once it's finally SO bad that you make an emergency appointment with a doctor begging for meds again , the damn meds take at least a month (if not two) to actually start working. That is fucked up

Anyway, I am fine now. Meds have kicked in I am calm cool and collected. WOOT go drugs!

Allergies

At about the same time as the panic attacks I was having bad allergies. Like the kind where you break out in hives all over and your lips swell and you are generally NOT a happy camper.

I finally went to see an allergist and I am on Allegra and I am good. Allegra ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year ROCKED. For the first time EVAR my hubby Roque was included as part of the family. He was actually invited to Thanksgiving dinner. I almost fell over when he was invited. I was SO happy. My family has really been doing a 180 on the whole gay thing. I am hopeful now about it.

Selling my Loft

You read that right. I am selling my loft. Roque and I went to look at some model homes (just for fun) and we totally fell in love with one of the floor plans. I slapped a deposit down on it that day. We love the loft, but it's time for a spare bedroom and a two car garage! But this is NOT suburbia, this in still REALLY close to downtown Sacramento and is in an urban infill development, go high density urban housing! It's gonna ROCK

Buying a house

So obviously since I am selling the loft, we are buying a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It wont be complete till July(ish) but we are selling the loft now to save up some money. If anyone wants to buy a loft close to downtown, hit me up!

The new house rocks by the way. It's a two bedroom, has a huge kitchen, two car garage and a super living room with vaulted ceilings which we love. We can't wait to move in.

Work

More details to come on this, but let me just say some serious shit may be happening....

Go out and VOTE! It's time to take back our country. And if you think voting does not matter, you are wrong. Your voice must be heard. If you don't vote then you have no right to complain about the state the country is in right now.

Good Bye AT&T

OH, and let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. I hate AT&T, or rather I HATE SBC who bought AT&T and therefore I hate AT&T. My phone at my new loft has NEVER worked. They refuse to acknowledge the fact even though I have has several techs come out and prove it is their fault. This caused me to pay for a year of DSL I could not use cause it did not work, yet I was not allowed out of my contract cause my phone line was "working fine".

OH and I used to work for them and I REALLLY hate them.

I have had Vonage now for a long time. However I have kept my AT&T line for my alarm system. Although I don't know why cause when it rains I lose dial tone, and I am surprised when the alarm goes off it can even dial the alarm monitoring service. Well last weekend I took my Vonage line and ran it into my entire house. Now ever phone jack is Vonage and I even ran my alarm into my Vonage line. I tested it by setting off the alarm (after warning them first) and it made the call just fine. So I cancelled my AT&T line.

YIPPY! NO more satanic phone company!!!!!!!!

Coda update

Coda has been a really good boy. He does still have accidents from time to time. But only when we are not watching him closely. If he is in a confined space, or leashed to something he does not have accidents. However if we let him roam free he will run up the stairs and go pee on the carpet. He needs to learn that even when he has free rein of the house he needs to tell us he needs to go outside and not just pee on the carpet. But he is a puppy and he still needs some training. It's hard to stay angry at the little guy for more then a few seconds.

Also, I think the cats have been trying to frame him by pooping on the carpet. This may have been a result of their litter box being dirty and not just malicious behavior on their part, but you know cats, they have their own little hidden agenda.....

Coda update

I am so proud of my little boy! He is learning lots. Most importantly he has learned to go to the bathroom outside. We walk him before work and after work and he goes then. He has not had an accident in the house in several days. This makes Roque and I happy beyond words!

He still likes to struggle sometimes on the lease (I attribute this to him having A.D.D), but he is still a good boy when we walk him. He gets along really well with other dogs. He is the best puppy evar!

Who knew I would become a dog person, cause I did not used to be, but Coda has turned me!

World, say hello to Coda

Everyone, I want to introduce to you our new baby. His name is Coda, and he is a 6 month old Lhasa Apso puppy. He is the cutest little guy EVAR!

I took Friday afternoon off and went and picked him up from the breeder. He had a traumatic afternoon. After playing with him and his brothers I finally picked him. But once he got in my car and I turned on the engine, he kinda freaked out and shit himself. Then when we started moving he shit himself again. Yippy a soiled puppy in my car for an hour long drive home! He was a good boy though, he stayed still and I had him wrapped in a towel. I managed to get no icky on my car!

When I got him home obviously he went straight to the bath. Thus further traumatizing the poor little guy. But I got him all clean, then towled him off. I took him downstairs to the bathroom (which is gonna be his room). I set him in the doggie bed and he proceeded to ignore more. Every time I laid next to him, he looked away. He was not happy with me. But then Roque came home and he livened up a bit. He did some exploring of the downstairs. Then we took him next door to show to our neighbor who also has a Lhasa Apso puppy. The to puppies played, it was so cute.

This morning we took Coda for his first walk. He had never been on a lease before, and he did resist but he did a really good job for it being his first time. He was having fun playing around in the wet grass.

I think this is gonna be a fun adventure with our new baby boy!

Bad Cooking Experience

I am just gonna say this one thing. Caramelized sugar on the bottom of your oven is a VERY bad thing. I'm not gonna say how it got there (although I did not do it) but it was there, a VERY thick layer. And when you try and use said oven, smokes comes out like there is an entire forest on fire! This sets off smoke alarms, suffocates you, and general is not a good thing.

I managed to get a significant portion of the evilness out of the oven, and disconnected the smoke alarm right next to the kitchen. All the windows are open, and I think I have the smokiness down to a level where I can hit the self clean button and burn the rest of the sugar to HELL!!!!!!

I need a kitchen cleaner, but alas I am not rich....

Geocaching, the new crack?

Well geek crack anyway....

My group at work did geocaching as a team event this week. I had never done it before. In fact before this team event I have never heard of it before. It was a TOTAL blast! And aside from being real fun, my team won and each one of us won a Garmin etrex GPS!

Well now that I have a GPS I have to use it! Today after work I found my first geocache, it was really exciting! I am hooked. I need to get the bike mount for my GPS so I can ride the bike trail and find more!

Must...find...more...geocaches....

Where was I on that horrible day......

Lets start this story a week or so before 9/11. Me and three friends were about to do the Canada to US AIDS Vaccine Ride Sept 5-9, 2001. The ride went from Montreal Canada to Portland Maine and was a 400 mile long ride. The goal (like all AIDS rides) was to raise money and awareness for AIDS and HIV. This particular ride was more focused on raising money for AIDS vaccine research.

After an AMAZING 5 days on the road we arrived in Portland Maine, tired but incredibly happy. Doing one of these rides is amazing because of the sense of community and purpose. It really is like living in a small Utopian society for the duration.

On Sept 10th my buddy Adam and I flew home on a late flight. Our friends Tina and Tania who were going to go home with us decided to stay an extra day in a bed and breakfast. Adam and I arrived home at almost midnight on Sept 10th.

Rather then drive all the way home I spent the night at my parents house because it was way closer to the SF airport then where I lived. I remember waking up the next morning, still totally high on the experience and turning on the TV. And there it was, unfolding right in front of me! One of the towers was on fire. Apparently someone had flown a plane into it. I got out of bed and went into the living room where my parents where, they two were watching the horror on TV. Then there was footage of the second plane hitting, and eventually the towers falling.....

I couldn't believe after experiencing such an amazing event were people got together to help those in need, that this, something so horrible was happening....

My friends Tina and Tania who were still in Maine were trapped. All air traffic was stopped in the United States. They had to rent a car and drive all the way from Maine to California. And not only that, since they had not planned on such a thing, they had no cloths! All you have room to bring on these AIDS Rides is cycling cloths and maybe 1 or 2 pairs of real cloths to wear at night. Luckily they were not on one of the hijacked planes, but it did take them a good week to finally get home.

Concrete Care

Roque and I live in a Loft. I bought a little over two years ago. One of the "cool" features of the loft is that it has concrete floors. This is supposed to add to the whole industrial feel of the place. I admit the are kinda cool. However all they did was polish the concrete, other then that it was bare concrete. And bare concrete does not look cool for long. Over the past two years we have watched the floors get all nasty and stained and just icky. I had decided I wanted to just put some other type of floor over the concrete and stop looking at it. Alas my bank account said no.

This weekend Roque and I went all super crazy and decided to make the concrete floors look bad ass. We did this buy first moving all the furniture. We then stripped the floors and made them uber clean. Then we sealed the floors with an acrylic sealer. They are smooth and shinny and most importantly totally sealed and stain and dust proof. OMG the floors look nice. THIS is how the yummy industrial floors are supposed to look. I am happy now, and the best part is it only costed us like 50 bucks.

Go concrete floors!

Bowling fun

I work for a large company. I mean a LARGE company. I work in a city called Folsom and my company has a campus there. Yes a campus. We have 7 buildings and about 7000ish people. Anyway, once a year we have whats called the Folsom Site Games. This year I got suckered into being on a bowling team for the site games.

Tonight was the first night of bowling. My plan was to have our team lose so that we only have to play tonight and Thursday and then poof we are eliminated. Remember that episode of South Park where the kids keep trying to lose in little league so they don't have to play anymore, ya that was us.

But we all got into the competition and we were totally on a roll and by the end of the night our team had the highest score. We are so totally going the distance!

Go bowling!

I am so butch and stuff

I got my lesbian on today. I had to do a little rewiring in the loft. All of my networking equipment (cable modem, wireless router, etc...) were in my utility room. The problem with this room is that it gets really hot being that it vents to the outside. The cable modem does not really appreciate the heat and causes it to not work right. However, I have satellite TV so every cable coming into the loft has satellite on it so I can't hook the modem up to it.

The only solution was to run some cable into my loft for the modem. The easiest place to run wire from the utility room is the kitchen since they share a wall. I decided to drop a cable line and a phone line above my kitchen cabinets. So I cut a hole in my drywall, put in a box, and put a plate with coax and a phone jack.

Now in my kitchen above my cabinets I have my cable modem, my wireless router, and my vonage adapter. The phone jack I installed goes back to the utility room so I can run my vonage phone line back into the main phone box and run it throughout my loft.

So ya it was a fun experience, this is why home ownership rocks, you can do this crazy stuff!

Guerneville Hooker Bear

We were in Guerneville over the weekend. We were camping/working. We went to The Outback campsite to help the owner create a bonfire pit for LazyBear Weekend. It was LOTS of hard work, but it was fun at the same time.

Anyway back to the funny story at hand. We went to the grocery store to pick up a few items. While we were pulling into the parking lot we saw this rather hot bear just sitting outside. Of course we both totally stared, I mean he was rather woofy!

After we bought out stuff and got back in the car, we noticed out woofy bear was still sitting outside. As we drove past him leaving the parking lot we looked at him again. But this time, he was ready for us. He put his hand up his shirt like he was rubbing his chest or something (thereby exposing his furry belly, WOOF!). And as we drove by Roque says he also grabbed his crotch. He was totally trying to pick us up.

He shall forever be known as Guerneville Hooker Bear! Hot!

Camping Fun

So over fourth of July my hubby and I went camping. Our friends from San Diego got this camp site that is in between us and them. We had SOOO much fun.

We arrive at the site really late, like 10ish. It was totally dark and we put up our tent by lamp light. It was totally fun! The rest of the weekend we just chilled. It was so fun to see our friends again, it's been a long time!

And we are camping again next weekend, total craziness! We are camping machines!

Here are camping pics!

The curse of the long torso

I am not a tall person. I am about average height. But there is one thing that makes it hard to find cloths that fit, and that is that I have a long torso. It means shirts I buy are always too short, and pants are always too long.

Normally this is annoying but you can still find shirts that are tall and pants you can just got off or some crap. But cycling gear is a totally different story. Apparently EVERYONE that has ever cycled and that will ever cycle has short little torsos. No one makes long cycling jerseys. It is a hugely annoying problem. Because generally I am left wearing a jersey that does not fit and my tummy shows when I stand up. I really hate it.

Today I went a quest to find jerseys that fit me for the AIDS Ride. I had to by jerseys that are XXL. WOW, OK so they are a smidgen baggy but damn it they cover my tummy. It will feel good to not be constantly pulling down my jerseys to try and cover my tummy.

Yippy new jerseys!!!!!!

Chain mail in dough form

I was given Amish Friendship Bread today. Basically it is a chain letter in dough form. You take this packet of soon to be bread, take care of it for 10 days, you then turn it into 4 amounts of bread, give 3 away to other unsuspecting victims and then make the 4th portion for yourself.

So ya... I was tagged today....

Yippy yesterday is finally over!

Yesterday sucked monkey balls. I should have known it would be a bad day from the get go. I rode my bike to work yesterday so that means I packed the night before. I get to work and realize I forgot to pack my belt. This is bad because I brought jeans that were too big and they literally fall to my ankles when I walk. So I had to be all white trash and tie my pants tight with a string.

It all when down hill from there. It was the worst day EVAR at work. I was ready to go completely postal.

But since I have a 26 mile bike ride home I was able to release my tension and I was actually in a good mood by the time I got home.

Still, I never want a repeat of yesterday...ever!!!!

Poor Kitty.....

We came home from the bar Saturday night and when we got home, there was a dead kitten in front of the loft. Why did a poor kitty have to choose our loft to die in front of? I have no idea what happened to it, it had a head injury.

Is it a bad sign to find dead kitten at your door on Easter? And animal control does not work on Sunday so they would not come take it away. But apparently the CHP will take away dead animals, so they got it sometime Sunday.

Poor little kitten, it's life was too short. I hope my kitties did not watch it die through the window, cause they were funny that night, Gizmo stayed hidden all night, we could not even find her until we opened up some wet food and she finally came out.

This is why my kitties are indoor kitties, I need my children to be safe, specially where I live it'd to dangerous.

It's Wedding TIme!

Yesterday ROCKED! And you want to know why? Cause Roque and I totally got married yesterday! So why I never mentioned this before? Well it was a secret. Roque and I cooked up this little scheme a while ago. We kept wondering when was a good time to get married and we also wanted to keep it small and not that big of a deal (and not that expensive).

So our plan, was to have a party, a cocktail party! Where all are guests were blissfully unaware and already dressed up (cause you have to dress nice to a cocktail party!). And what better day to have a "cocktail" party and spring a surprise wedding then April's fools.

Our cocktail party was good! And about an hour into it we sprung the surprise. I revealed to the guests that they were in fact not at our cocktail party, but at our wedding! Our friend Rachelle performed the ceremony. We exchanged vows and rings. It was a good ceremony. And now it's official, I have a husbear!

I finally gave my bike a name....

I have had my bike for a good seven years now. It has been with me through two AIDS Rides and it's about to take my on another AIDS Ride. All this time I have never given my bike a name. I have always just referred to it as my baby.

Well I was on a bike ride on Sunday and it hit me, the perfect name for my bike. So now my bike has a name! My bikes name is.... (trumpets please).... Serenity. OK so that makes me a total SciFi geek but whatever, it's the name I have chosen and I am sticking to it!

Ikea is down the road from me!

Last week (March 1st to be exact) Ikea opened in West Sacramento. This Ikea is literally down the road from me. I can't believe I live SO close to an Ikea. I used to drive all the way to Emeryville to go to Ikea.

The hubby and I went this weekend to the brand new Ikea. It was completely crazy crowded. They had insane traffic control, that frankly kind of pissed me off. So we should have been able to drive down the street and then turn left and poof be at Ikea. Nope they have EVERY direction into Ikea closed off except the freeway. AND to top it off it was illegal to do a U turn at EVERY intersection so we had no way to turn around so we could get into Ikea.

Then after finally turning around and getting in the correct lane to turn into Ikea, we waiting in our car in the MASSIVE line of cars to find a place to park. We went around the entire building, past the parking lot and ended up parking in this office complex (that is like next door to my house) and we had to walk to Ikea. But once there, it was cool. I love Ikea, there are just so many things I want to buy!

As much as I love Ikea, I am not going again until the crowd thins about a bit. I am dealing with that parking traffic nightmare again.

GO IKEA!

Don't you dare steal my life!

I was just kicking back this morning at work and I get a phone call on my cell phone. I answer it, and it's American Express - Fraud Division. A suspicious purchase got flagged this morning on my card. Seems "I" tried to purchase a computer from HP. This purchase is certainly news to me. Well it was immediately flagged as odd, I was called, they canceled my card, I am not responsible for the charges and they are sending me a new card! Nifty huh. I grilled them and it turns out that was the only freaky charge. They caught them immediately. I have no idea who it was, it was a phone order I guess. But the funny/really stupid thing is that the computer was set to ship to my billing address... What kinda of idiot fraud guy has stuff shipped to the address of the guy you stole the credit card number from?

This is the second time this has happened to me in my life. The first time it seems someone manufactured a fake card, with my number and their name on it. It's true cause I have impressions of the card from some of purchases. That was a total mess, it took almost a year to sort that one out. This time I also have no idea how they got my number cause I have my card, it was not stolen.

The world may never know. What is important my awesome credit card company spotted it and told me, and now it's all taken care of!

mmmmm memories of college

So I have started riding my bike to the light rail station and from the station to work. It's not to far of a ride on either end, but it is a good bit of exercise and there is a nice hill from the station to work.

Anyway i have not ridden my mountain bike in a really long time and it is totally reminding me of my days at UC Davis. For those you that did not go to UC Davis, Davis is the bike capital of the universe. No seriously, I am not kidding! There are more bikes the citizens in the town of Davis. Everyone rides everyone in davis. Campus is crazy and filled with bikes. Naturally when I was there I rode my bike everywhere. In fact when you live in Davis it gets to the point where you don't know how drive to places cause you only know hot to bike there on bike trails....

Anyway, I am just rambling, cause riding my mountain bike around rather then driving just reminds me of being in Davis.

Believe in Jesus

I was at school this past Saturday doing homework (cause it's impossible to do homework at home). Anyway they were having some chinese new year celebration/get together.

Once I was done with my homework I left and started to walk towards the parking structure. As soon as I left the student union (where the get together was) there were these guys handing out cards saying "one get out of hell free card". And then I heard one of them say (to a group of Indian Women) "believe Jesus!"

I can't even express how much I hate bible thumping bastards like this. The totally set up shop outside the union cause they knew there would be a large gathering on non-christians. I wanted to smack this guys. Why can't they just shut the hell up and leave people alone!?!?!?!?!

I almost screamed "I am a flaming cocking sucking homosexual!!!!" but I did not. Although it probably wold have been priceless......

In Training!

Well I am away on business this week. I am taking a training class and now I am in the silicon valley. Like the idiot that I am, I totally forgot the power supply to my laptop. Normally this would only be a slight problem since that laptop lasts a good 4-6 hours with the battery. But my battery is bad, it lasts like an hour. In fact the battery looses juice even with the laptop is fully turned off!

SO here I am, bloggin from a workstation in my training class. Where there is a will, there is a way people!

I do admit i am going through some withdrawls, I can't exactly look at all my normal blogs here in the class cause that would raise some eybrows, cause lets face it, we homos have a tendancy to post some slightly inappropriate things...

OK back to class or some junk. Hope everyone is haveing a good week!

Some Tahoe Fun!

A bunch of us went up to Tahoe this weekend. It was so much fun! We got a cabin RIGHT on Donner Lake.

While we were driving up I was suprised by the lack of snow, but while we were ther a massive storm came in and dropped about 2 feet of snow. It was SO cool. We played in the snow, made snowmen, had snowball fights. It was good times.

Here are some pics of the fun!

What did you do for new years?

This was an interesting New Years. Roque and I had planned on spending New Years at Disneyland. Well we were to leave on Friday morning bright and early. Thursday afternoon I started to get a sore throat. Thursday night I could hardly sleep my throat hurt so bad. Friday morning my throat was better but was was all stuffy and feeling like crap. SO I drove to LA and we went my Ben's birthday dinner. It was fabulous!

Satruday (new years eve) I woke up feeling like death. We went to Disneyland bright and early because Roque was afraid it would be sold out or something. We did most of the rides we wanted to do and left the park a little after noon. I need to lay in bed and die a bit. At 7 we went back to the part and stacked a claim we could watch Fantasmic (I was determined to see Fantasmic even if it killed me). Luckily it was not raining during Fantasmic. After Fantasmic there was a fireworks special, it was cool. We left the park and went back to the hotel. I overdosed on Nyquil and passed out. I woke up at midnight long enough to see the ball drop and kiss Roque and then pass out again.

Sunday I woke up, feeling less like death. We had breakfast and drove back to Sacramento. It was raining the entire way, but it was an OK drive. Finally we got home and I passed out on the couch.

How was your New Years?

Oh and by the way. Even though I was dieing from Ebola, Disney was super fun! Fantasmic was amazing! I am glad I finaly got to see it. But best of all I got to spend New Years with my hubby!

shopping spree!

I just finished a mad shopping spree for assorted gift cards during my lunch hour. And it was pooring rain and I am not wearing a water proof jacket today. So they best appreciate these gift cards.

Yes I am totally uncreative when it comes to gift giving. But whatever. The poeple that I really care about were taken care of a long time ago. This is just the rest.

Can you believe that Christmas is so close? It's crazyness. This will be the first year I don't go home for Christmas. I will be going to Roque's mom's house. I can't wait. I'm not really in the mood to spend time with my family. They have failed me one to many times over the years. None of them even talk to me anymore. They all probably think all this family drama is my fault. That since I am the gay one I should suck it up and let them treat me like less a person and not say anything. HAHA, screw that! I'll just not spend my time with them!

So you all you out there. Have a good time spending the holidays with your loved ones!

Crazy Thunder!

Last night was freaky. We woke up at 3 in th= morning to some REALLY loud thunder. We don't get weather like that here in CA. And the funny thing was there was no rain. There were three insanely cracks of thunder then all of a sudden it was like someone opened the flood gates and rain started to poor like mad! But alas the really cool thunder turned into normal weak thunder.

So I got to cuddle with Roque for a while and go back to sleep. It was nice.

Super Funtastic Weekend

I would have posted this monday but monday was a craptastic day, so anyway.....

This weekend ROCKED! Two of our friends T&T came to visit us from San Diego. We go and visit them every summer, and hit the beach and stuff. They have yet to actually see the loft so clearly it was their turn to come visit us!

This weekend was also our second annual christmas tree decorating party. Yes I said christmas tree, not holiday tree, that is just stupid to not call a christmas tree a christmas tree!

Saturday I picked up my friends from the airport then we drove to go see some mutual friends that live nearby and have lunch with them. Then we got back and started to prepare for the party. Sunday we finished up all our preparations and waiting for the guests to arrive. It was lots of fun having all our friends over.

Monday we said goodbye to our friends as they went back to San Diego and I went back to work.

Super fun weekend!

Sausage

I bought a new jacket yesterday. Two main reasons 1) the cats kinda destroyed my jacktes and 2) I am too fat for my old jackets. The new jacket I bought was XXL. I almost cried.

So next week I need to hit the gym, for real this time! I have already started to bring lunch to work rather then eat out every day, and that will help with the diet.

I am tired of being all packed into my cycling jersey like a sausage. Time to take charge here!

This just might be the best new years EVER!

I have my bathroom back!

I am so happy! Now that my kitties are happy again I was able to get rid of the second litter box in the upstairs bathroom. We also took this opportunity to do a little redecorating in that bathroom. We have a nice teal and mango color scheme going on, it looks SO cool. And really the best part is being able to stop out of the shower and not stop on kittie litter.

It really is the little things in life :)

Kittie Update - They are happy again!!!!!!!

I have not said anything about the children in a while. They have been the same way for a long time. There were getting along fine, but Binkie still refused to go downstairs. This was annoying because I had to move the food upstairs and get another litter box just for Binkie, total pain....

Well this weekend we had a breakthrough. Binkie just decided it was time to go downstairs. So she came down. Mind you she was a bit skittish, and she was exploring like it was all brand new. Gizmo was SO excited she followed Binkie around everywhere she went. This of course annoyed Binkie and she eventually got pissed and went back upstairs. But this was not the end of it, she came down several times.

I am so happy, I think my children are finally going to be ok!

I survived another Thanksgiving

Ok saying that I survived Thanksgiving may be a bit melodramatic. I actually had a really good Thanksgiving. This was the first year I did not have Thanksgiving with my parents. As you know if you have been reading this site, there has been major drama between me and the parents this year. So this year I had Thanksgiving with Roque and his family. It was a really good Thanksgiving.

I hope all my readers out there had a good Thanksgiving as well!

Did you vote yet?

Did you vote yet? If you live in California you have to go vote for the special elections and make sure we smack down the govenator. We can't let his shit pass, those propositions are so jacked up.

My birthday present to my self :)

My parents gave me money for my b-day. Not super creative but very useful cause I could use it towards a larger purchase which I wanted.

Ever since we moved into the Loft I have been talking about how I want a big massive fish tank on one of the walls. Well my parents gave me just enough money to make me go out and buy one. So yesterday while "just looking" at the pet store, I bought a brand new 60 gallon fish tank. It fits perfectly on the wall its on. I can't wait for it to get stabilized so I can start putting fishies in it!

Riding the rails

This weekend the light rail extension to the city I work in was completed and opened. This means I no longer have to fight traffic, I can just kick back on light rail and chill. That is exactly what I did today. I rode to work for the first time today. I must say it was really nice. I did not have to drive in stop and go traffic, I did not have to do anything accept listen to my iPod and read Harry Potter.

I think I am going to like this!

***UPDATE***

Since it was asked, work provides free shuttle service from the station to the office four times a day. Twice in the morning and twice after work.

As for getting from the station to home, that is a bit more interesting. Currently Roque is dropping me off and picking me up. I may start to walk but there are some rather iffy areas to be walking in the dark.

It's nanoriffic!

My Hubby got me a birthday gift. But he could not wait till my birthday, he wanted to give it to me now. So last week he gave me my birthday present a good 3 weeks early. And as I am sure you already know, he got me an iPod nano. It is the COOLEST THING EVER! If you have not seen one in person, then you just don't understand. The commercials do not do it justice, it's smaller then that. It's so small in fact, that when you see it in person it looks fake.

I highly suggest that everyone go buy one, NOW.

We FINALLY have a bed!

Roque and I have lived in our loft for a little over a year now. That entire time we have had our mattress on the floor. Mind you it's a nice Cal King mattress and all, but it's still on the floor. That is a) lame and b) not good if you have bad knees and have to get up off the floor every morning.

Friday night Roque and I went bed shopping. We figured it was time, screw cost, it was simply going to happen. See what has kept us from buying anything before was that we needed a platform bed. And Cal King platform beds are NOT cheap. Well we found one and it was yummy looking and it was way good price, so we bought it. They gave us free delivery at that very second, and we went home and immediately put i
